Goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has revealed he has been left 'numb' by Hull City's relegation from the Premier League.

The Tigers were effectively relegated from the top-flight after losing 1-0 at home to Sunderland last weekend.

"It's a surreal experience, I struggle to describe it. I just feel numb," Myhill told the Hull Daily Mail.

"It's something that will take a while to sink in. It'll probably not be until we get our fixtures for next year that it'll hit home.

"I don't want to embarrass people, but there were a lot of tears in the dressing room on Saturday.

"We are a very disappointed group of players. There's people whose pride has been hurt and there's people whose reputations have taken a dent as well.

"But it's up to us to roll our sleeves up and look to bounce back next year."

Meanwhile, Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor has revealed he is holding a 'watching brief' over the Tigers amid growing talk of financial meltdown at the KC Stadium.

He said:"It's just a watching brief at the moment. It's not going to be a Portsmouth situation we hope.

"But clubs have got to be careful when they get to the Premier League that they don't over-commit themselves financially and that their Premier League fairytale doesn't turn into a nightmare.

"We're keen to work with the club to make sure they survive intact and without any points deduction and without a fire sale of players."
