Should Fabregas adhere to Hleb’s warning?
This summer’s biggest transfer story involving Arsenal striker Cesc Fabregas is set to rumble on and everyone has given their two-penneth worth about it arguing whether he should leave or not.
Alexander Hleb has become the latest to voice his opinion on the Arsenal captain’s future and has urged Fabregas to stay at the Emirates. The Belarus captain made the move from north London to Barcelona in 2008 and has found life tough at the club. Also, he regrets leaving Arsene Wengers side and believes Fabregas needs to have faith in his club and give them time.
The former Arsenal midfielder revealed that he has kept in contact with Fabregas since leaving the club and the player has asked him for advice on what to do.
“I stay in touch with Cesc a lot and it’s hard for me to judge what he should do.
“He and Gael Clichy are both very good players who must make their own decisions about their future. But I would advise them to stay.”
Hleb also believes that it is just a matter of time before the Gunners end their recent drought of trophies.
“It didn’t work out for Arsenal this season but, if Arsene Wenger keeps the side together, they can really go far next year. They play great football.
“It’s partly a question of experience and next season Arsenal will have more of it if everyone stays.
“All things being equal, I think they have a very good chance of the title next season.”
Hleb makes a fair point on both accounts as there is always an element of risk with a move (Hleb became a bench warmer and has since been shipped out on loan to Stuttgart) and Arsenal are a good side who play in the Champions League regularly, why does Fabregas need to leave now as he has time on his side at just 23-years-old.
With Xavi Hernandez (commonly known as Xavi), Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets currently in the Barcelona midfield setup it is no guarantee that the young Catalan-born player would be an automatic choice for Josep Guardiola’s side. Even big names have found it hard to make an impact at the Camp Nou. Thierry Henry took a little time to find his feet and just ask their big money striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic what sort of year he has been having.
However, Fabregas is ten times better than his former team-mate Hleb and he is also a local talent, so may find it a lot easier to settle in straight away. If Joan Laporta wishes to bring the young midfieler to play for L’equip blaugrana and tpart with the hefty fee that will bring the young Arsenal skipper to the club then they must intend to start him. They may want to pair him up with their current midfield maestro Xavi in the middle of the park and possibly move Iniesta out into a wider role.
We do not know yet how eager Fabregas is to pull on the red and blue stripped shirt of Barca, but perhaps he should adhere to Hleb’s warning as dream moves can easily become a nightmare for many players.

Absolutely correct when you state that Cesc is better, maybe not 10 times better, then Hleb. What goes missing in Hlebs’ argument is that Cecsc is Spanish, spent 6 years as a youth player at barca and is in the Spanish National team. He will be welcomed , will break into the Barca team, will make a serious contribution and will finally win major trophies. He should go to Barca, after all, he is in fact a product of their youth system on “loan” to Arsenal.

Obv YOU would think that.. from your vile ranting i can tell the kinda dislike u have for the Arsenal club.. A club like Barca only wants to know that it has good players on the bench, yeh he’l be winning trophies but will he start in any of those games?? Maybe Hleb’s not as good as him but he has talent.. and what about Henry?? who btw is a legend n still can produce 1 goal in ery game.. yet he doesn’t play.. Not to mention Barca has more Spanish players on the bench who don’t get to start.. What makes u think Fabregas would start.. But you would love it if he leaves because that means whatever club u support would have an even better chance.. lmao ur just pathetic..
