Interim Hull City boss Iain Dowie will find out later this week if he will remain in charge at the KC Stadium next season.

Dowie was drafted in to try and help the Tigers survive in the Premier League, but was unable to mastermind a turnaround in fortunes after manager Phil Brown was placed on gardening leave.

Now he is waiting to see what the future holds, with major budgetary cuts expected at City over the summer.

Following a goalless draw with Liverpool, Dowie said:"Whoever is here, it's important for someone to have a footballing input into the re-structuring.

"It is important the club's financial stability is assured as quickly as it can be, because there have to be massive changes to the budget.

"That is exactly what I expected, because that is what it said on the tin.

"I'll have a discussion with the chairman sometime this week and we'll see. I've enjoyed my time here, but unfortunately we've come up short."
