Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has been included in Ghana's 23-man squad for the World Cup finals.

The 23-year-old was born in Berlin and played for Germany at every level up to and including under-21, but recently switched his allegiance to the Black Stars.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac axed Stephen Adams, Eric Addo, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Laryea Kingston, Haminu Draman and Bernard Kumordzi from his initial 30-man squad.

Boateng's tackle on Michael Ballack in the FA Cup Final just over two weeks ago forced the Chelsea midfielder and Germany captain out of the World Cup with an ankle injury.

Ghaha are scheduled to play Germany in Johannesburg on June 23.

Boateng come play against his half-brother Jerome in that game as the Hamburg star is in the Germany squad.

Last week Rajevac suffered a major blow when it was confirmed that Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien would play no part in the World Cup because of injury.

Ghana squad: Richard Kingson, Daniel Agyei, Stephen Aholu; John Paintsil, John Mensah, Samuel Inkoom, Hans Adu Sarpei, Rahim Ayew, Lee Addy, Isaac Vorsah, John Mensah; Kwadwo Asamoah, Anthony Annan, Sulley Muntari, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, Stephen Appiah, Andre Ayew, Derek Boateng; Asamoah Gyan, Prince Tagoe, Dominic Adiyiah, Matthew Amoah.
