Which club represents the best move for Craig Bellamy?
Roberto Mancini has told Craig Bellamy this week that he is free to leave the Eastland’s club after the recent capture of Spanish star David Silva. The Spaniard is set to take the Welshman’s place in the City Line-up on the left flank this season, which evidently means that Bellamy will not be needed, despite the winger being one of City’s best performers last season. Mancini and Bellamy have had a rocky relationship since the Italian took charge of City in December 2009, and it looks almost certain that the 31-year-old will be looking for a new club this summer. However, it’s not all doom and gloom for Bellamy. The Welshman will be pleased to hear that a number of clubs are interested in his services this summer, so it’s simply a case of which club the winger would like to represent. Everton, Cardiff, Tottenham, Celtic and even Steve McClaren’s Wolfsburg are amongst the pack wanting to acquire Bellamy’s service this summer. So, with that being said, which club would represent the best move for Craig Bellamy?
Cardiff
Craig Bellamy may have shocked a few fans by admitting earlier in June this year that he is considering a shock move to Championship side Cardiff City (his home club) this summer. He has said that the move would be for sentimental reasons, but as a career move it may be a very bad one in my eyes. Credit to the player who is obviously not in the game for money and for showing his clear admiration towards his home club, but if he were to make the switch this summer to the Cardiff City Stadium, it would almost certainly mark the end of his career. Bellamy would do a great job for the Bluebirds and will no doubt be a firm fan favourite, but at this stage of his career it would not be his best option. Many fans will agree that Bellamy still has a lot to give to the Premier League and should remain in the top-flight for at least another 2 more seasons. If the winger wishes to return home, then he should do this later on his career, but not now.
Suitability Rating: 4/10 – He would be adored by the Cardiff City fans and would almost certainly get the games under his belt, but a down grade at this stage of his career would be a poor decision.
Celtic
Craig Bellamy did have a loan spell with the Scottish Giants in 2005, but a permanent move for the winger this summer would not represent the player’s best move at all. Bellamy spent 6 months at Celtic Park where he made a total of 15 appearances for the club and bagged 9 goals as well, not a bad return at all. However, everybody knows that the Scottish League is not the most competitive league in the world; it’s actually quite the opposite. The City winger would do a great job for Celtic (as proven in 2005) but alternatively the player has better options on the table. Even although Celtic are considered a big club in the game, the style of football in Scotland is poor compared to the English Premier League.
Suitability Rating: 4/10 – A great club, and although he would be a starter, Bellamy does have better offers on the table this summer.

4/10 for Celtic’s suitability? utter, utter nonsense. Celtic should be top of that list, we are the only one’s who are capable of winning anything and incase you didn’t notice, Craig actually WON something when he was here on loan, has he won anything since apart from the Charity Shield with Liverpool?
He may have better financial offers but in terms of club size between the likes Of Everton and Spurs compared to Celtic. Both of those clubs couldn’t come anywhere near to being as big as us

Get real Greig, Celtic would struggle in the championship if they played in England…. I mean look at Middlesborough. Half of the old Celtic squad is there and they did nothing last year. Robbie Keane scoring goals in Scotland proved a lot. A poor league full of poor teams.

Absolute pish written by someone who wanks himself to the Premiership> Note to England……look at how all the Premiership players faired at the World Cup ?. Overpaid mid-skill level babies, all of them. Bellamy would be a fantastic addition to Celtic. Johnny Englanders, you are jealous because you don’t have the World’s most supported club in your league. Hai Hail

greig mate, i’m a celtic fan but it’s clear that celtic is a worse choice for bellers than most other clubs just because of the state of scottish football and the state of our club at the moment
you say he won something in scotland – so what? nobody cares about scottish trophies – ask rangers, they’ve got tons of scottish trophies and are going bust – scottish trophies are worth little in world terms, not even automatic entry into the champs league any more, scottish footy is on a par with the championship and with less prestige now
anyway if he wants to get trophies he can just go to the USA and enter a beauty pageant
i love bellers and think he’d be great for our club as would keane but they’d both be idiots to come here as lennon is not the right man for the job and having sold boruc for around €3m it’s clear our board haven’t got a clue what they’re doing
god help celtic with the current board in charge

Pointless playing in the jock league, Might as well go down the trophy shop and buy the silverware himself. anything won in the SPL has no real meaning or value.

As usual the arrogance is overwhelming,if you take the top 4 clubs out of the equation in the premiership, where is the quality football? Also if the english league is so competitive why is it pretty much a 2 horse race each year, remind me when was the last time Liverpool won it? for example

I agree with walshy and no disrespect to Celtic, but you play in a two team league and anyone being totally honest would say Scottish football is not as good now as it was 25 years ago.Bellamy wont go to Scotland,he will stay in the premier league.

How have you got a chance of winning anything? Have you forgot you play in the same league as Rangers? Bigger than Everton and Spurs? Ha ha. Don’t make me laugh.

celtic would not struggle in the championship i have said it once and will continue to say it the championship is a poor league aswell the best league in the worls is by far the spannish those who dont agree look at the last few years spain and there club teams have done 10 times better than the english the english league is talked up to be the best but its by far it will all soon fall apart as the money yous use will not be there for long as for celtic and rangers if they had the money that the poor teams in england had they would do alot better its a case of money look at the debt your teams are in ……… the banks will be calling ina few years pmsl
