Birmingham City's Ben Foster has pulled out of the England squad for the Wembley friendly international against Hungary due to a back injury.

Foster had been hoping to press his claim to be a regular member of Fabio Capello's squad, having missed out on selection for the World Cup finals in South Africa earlier this year.

His withdrawal comes after Blackburn Rovers' Paul Robinson opted to retire from international football instead of accepting a recall.

That leaves Manchester City's Joe Hart as the only senior keeper in the England squad, with West Ham's Robert Green and Bristol City's David James having both been overlooked.

They have also been snubbed when Capello called up two younger glovemen as cover for Hart, with Blackburn's Frank Fielding and Watford's Scott Loach promoted to the senior squad.
