Birmingham City are poised to seal the signing of AZ Alkmaar striker Moussa Dembele in a deal worth in the region of £5million.
The 23-year-old Belgium international has spent the last four years with the Dutch outfit, but is expected to move on, with the Blues facing competition from a number of other clubs for Dembele’s signature.
The player himself told the Birmingham Mail:“The Premier League is the strongest in the world. I know I can be successful in a big league.
“Birmingham City is the most concrete option, but other clubs have also shown an interest.
“I have waited for more opportunities and now I have to look at the pros and the cons. I would like to decide by next week, but in my head I have a preference.”
The Blues have so far drafted in just two players this summer, with goalkeeper Ben Foster arriving from Manchester United and striker Nikola Zigic joining from Valencia.
