Sunderland have wrapped up the signing of Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old has scored five times in 24 appearances for United to date, while last season he spent a month out on loan at Preston North End.
Boss Steve Bruce told his club's official website:"Danny's got the world at his feet – he needs games and fortunately Sir Alex has let us borrow him for a year.
"He's slightly different to what we've got already. It's a manager's job to make sure that when we name that 25 on September 1, it's a squad which is right and well-balanced.
"We've got an exciting player on our hands, who is very good with the ball and can beat a man."
