Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has dismissed recent speculation suggesting that manager Ian Holloway could quit the club ahead of their Premier League campaign.

Holloway is known to have become frustrated at a lack of success in the transfer market, although the Seasiders did sign four players on Wednesday morning.

Oyston told The Gazette:"I don't usually deal with rumours, because if I did I'd be doing nothing else all day long, but I can tell you that this is total nonsense.

"We are perhaps not particularly savvy to the media spotlight at the moment and I think people put two and two together because the manager was not at the club, he was travelling up from Bristol.

"It is important for Ian and myself to stick together at this time and not to panic and get too excited and hopefully with the characters we are, we're a good foil for each other."

Pool have this morning snapped up defender Craig Cathcart and midfield trio Elliot Grandin, Malaury Martin and Ludovic Sylvestre.
