Stoke City remain in the hunt to sign highly-rated Nice striker Loic Remy, who flew in for talks with the Potters on Thursday.

The 23-year-old France international is a reported target for a number of clubs in England, as well as on the continent, with Remy playing down his trip to the Potteries.

He said as he left the Britannia Stadium:"For me this is good. I want to play here (in England).

"I am not signing, this is just a visit."

Meanwhile, Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane has confirmed that City have made an approach to sign versatile forward Jonathan Walters from the Championship outfit.

He said:"I've had conversations with Stoke about Jon Walters all summer.

"If they reach an offer that the owner feels is acceptable, then there's a good chance he could leave.

"I think he will be with us for Saturday and if he were to leave, it will be nearer the start of the Premier League season."
