The transfer dealings at White Hart Lane
The transfer window always reminds me of Christmas. Full of expectation, excitement and then suddenly it becomes something an anti-climax once it is over. Some are happy with their presents, while others are left seething at the lack of effort that was put in. City fans are undoubtedly happy with their lot this summer, although others are bound to be disappointed.
It has been a relatively quiet transfer window as clubs remain cautious with their transfer spending, given the current climate. Chairman may have had little option but to be prudent, but it doesn’t stop supporters feeling slightly disappointed that a few more gambles haven’t taken place. Surprisingly a lot of managers have actually been sympathetic towards the situation, highlighting the curse of high wages that has made transfer dealings all the more difficult, rather than bemoaning the lack of backing from their club chairman, while others have simply made the best out of the stagnant transfer market, negotiated well and brought in some real bargains.
So how has Tottenham’s transfer window been and have you been disappointed by the progress that has been made? Was there any real need for Harry to strengthen in the first place? Do you foresee any last minute deals in the last 24hrs of the transfer window?

Are you serious? Defoe is all too often offside, shoots from anywhere, rarely looks around him to pass when he’s within 25 yards of goal, and takes at least 4 if not 5 shots for every goal he scores. He’s not the full package, and certainly doesn’t merit elevation above Robbie Keane even past his best.

Will you please shut up & STOP BLAMING LEVY……the transfer window is a beast that few can tame- we like other clubs have had to sit tight to last day dealings- where clubs I put in a corner and most likely WANT TO ACT! Stop blaming levy for things out of his control. Paying over the odds for players isn’t the spurs way!!

Leave Levy alone…..lets go out and spend 60 million on two players at 150k each a week…..then we can be the next Portsmouth, Hull, West Ham etc. I love Harry but he thinks with his heart more than his head, if you let him then he wont stop spending……Levy thinks about the long term future of the club!!

are you all retarded? im actually starting to hate fellow yids because youre all so clueless! we dnt need to go n wank 25m on a new striker as so many of you armchair supporters scream, the fact is we qualified for the cl with the lads we already have! weve since signed felipe melos clone to plug that michael carrick shaped hole weve had for so long and hudds gettin better and better every game! try gettin urselves down the lane every once in a while and stop comparing our strikers to the ‘superstar’ players u all watch on super sundays! Harrys a top man manager and always gets the best out of his players! have faith in dan and harry lads. levy is actually a very gd chairman, how many other chairman can u name that spend like he does for the club? buying us lukas and dimitars etc, building us a stadium to rival most of europes elite… if u dnt like it, poole all ur money together and buy enic out then u can stick ur hands in ur own pockets and read comments from other morons like urselves :]

The simple fact is Levy is not prepared to spend money on players and most of the ones we have won’t take us to the next level,For example Defoe and Lennon.
Defoe is lightweight,O.K he’ll score against your Sunderland’s and Wigan’s but his record against your Chelsea’s and Man UTD’s is poor and I expect him to be exposed in the champions league for the lightweight he is,remember Martin Jol Didn’t fancy him so expect to see why.As for Lennon all he really has is pace,he never looks up when he crosses. So he’s mediocre at best, you only have to look at his England performance’s to see what I mean.
It’s frustrating as we do have other options,
Dos Santos just had an exellent world cup, why isn’t he the first name on the team sheet?plus Pavlyuchenko,a player who seems to be one of those strikers that needs a good run in the team and it’s only then that you will see the best of him

What a complete bunch of moronic, ill informed retards. You honestly believe that your ave spend comes anywhere near to the running costs needed? “Levy should spend X amount on this or that player’, what like 18-20 million on Joe Cole?, Well you’ve evidence enough that would’ve been a waste and most players quoted on here I wager haven’t even been seen by you lot, just because the Sun say we’re in for a player doesn’t make it true, anymore than Saturdays result make our season over, absolute @#~ some of you spout, and you call yourself ‘supporters’, perhaps that’s the new term for @#~#@~

re steve, essexian. i do and did go to the lane on saturday and it was pathetic! if you think pav, keane, palacios, ekottu are good enough then your retarded. we need a quality striker end of, to bury those chances we make like at chelsea last season. harry himself has even said we need two or three! why the fuk aint we gone in for suarez?

So did I ,its called football matey. Sat was nothing short of pathetic I agree. But its the same team that played Man City off the park with two/three exceptions, They were not at the races from the off, arrogant and uninspired, that my friend is a management issue. Palacios doesn’t warrant a start, and frankly is and has been dreadful yet Jenas who played well against Stoke remained benched as did Keane (who I hate), but still would have played them both and thats not hindsight, that’s knowing that you keep momentum not rest on your laurels after a decent win. Harry cant keep blaming everyone else after a defeat yet happily take the plaudits after a win!
