Caption Competition: What have the Manchester United and Liverpool mascots seen?
Last weekend saw the fierce rivalry between Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool contested once again at Old Trafford. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is a veteran of these encounters but it was a new experience for Liverpool gaffer Roy Hodgson and it’s one he won’t want to remember. Thanks to a Dimitar Berbatov hat-trick the Red Devils emerged victorious after Steven Gerrard inspired a comeback for the Reds. Here are the two teams lining up in the tunnel before the start of the match, with Gerrard leading out Liverpool and Nemanja Vidic captaining Man United. But it’s not the captains we’re concentrating on here, it’s the team mascots that look incredibly nervous before leading the teams out on to the pitch. Can you come up with a funny caption?
