Ever since Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp pulled off the transfer coup of Rafael van der Vaart on transfer deadline day ten days ago, Spurs fans will have been waiting to see their new £8m star in action. The Dutchman joined up with his Tottenham teammates for the first time yesterday and was officially unveiled today. This will prove to be a massive boost for Redknapp and Spurs, following the International matches, which saw Tottenham lose England internationals Jermain Defoe and Michael Dawson to long term injuries.

Signed from Real Madrid, it looks as though the creative midfielder will go straight into the starting line-up for Tottenham’s Premier League game at the Hawthorns against West Brom tomorrow. Where will he fit into Harry Redknapp’s plans and who will have to make way for the talented Dutchman? Ahead of Tottenham’s very first Champions League match proper at Werder Bremen on Tuesday, Spurs will be looking to get back to winning ways with the help of the 27 year old, but will Rafael van der Vaart turn out to be a hit at White Hart Lane?
