Arsene Wenger has allowed Armand Traore to leave Arsenal for a season-long loan spell with Juventus.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Gunners as a scholar four years ago, made 12 appearances for Wenger's side last season and has now featured in 31 first-team games for the club.

He also starred in 28 matches for Portsmouth during a loan spell at Frratton Park during the 2008-09 campaign.

However, Wenger decided Traore's first-team chances this term would be limited because of the return from injuries of Gael Clichy and Kieran Gibbs.

He had been expected to join Benfica.

Meanwhile, Wenger has also allowed young forward Nacer Barazite to join Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old has made three first-team appearances from the substitute's bench for the club, all in the Carling Cup, since being signed four years ago.

He also featured in 36 games for Derby County during a loan spell at Pride Park in 2008-09.

A brief statement on the Gunners' official website read: "Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Nacer the best of luck during his time in the Netherlands with Vitesse Arnhem."
