Nigeria international Joseph Yobo has agreed to move from Everton to Fenerbahce on a season-long loan.

The 29-year-old could make the move to Turkey permanent next summer if the temporary arrangement proves to be a success.

A loan deal has been agreed between the two clubs and will be completed subject to Yobo passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

The Turkish transfer window does not close until Wednesday.

Yobo has not figured in David Moyes' first-team plans so far this season and missed Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa with a slight thigh problem.

He has been with Everton for the last eight years and featured in more than 250 games for the club.

The consistent defender captained his country in the World Cup this summer, but, although his Goodison Park deal lasts for another four seasons, he has lost his place at the heart of the Toffees defence to Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin.
