Much of the football news in the newspapers this morning surrounds England’s unsuccessful bid to host the 2018 World Cup. The English media is outraged, yet it is widely thought that the FIFA executive committee turned their back on the English bid due to the actions of the media.

There are also a few rumours to report, with British clubs battling to sign a Brazilian defender and Manchester City planning wholesale changes in player personnel in January.
