Newcastle axe Hughton – HAVE YOUR SAY!

Newcastle manager Chris HughtonNewcastle United have sacked manager Chris Hughton. The news comes following Newcastle’s dismal performance at the Hawthorns yesterday, which saw them lose 3-1 to fellow promoted team West Brom. Newcastle have only picked up two points from the last five Premiership matches, in a poor run that has seen them lose at home to Blackburn and get thrashed 5-1 away at Bolton. However, Hughton has on the whole done well after securing promotion to the Premier League and Newcastle currently sit 11th in the Premiership League Table. Highlights of the season so far are the 6-0 and 5-1 thumpings of Aston Villa and Sunderland respectively at St James’ Park and impressive 1-0 win at the Emirates against Arsenal.

Newcastle had this to say about his sacking: “Regrettably the board now feels that an individual with more managerial experience is needed to take the club forward.” Do you agree with this, is Mike Ashley right to sack Hughton and who would you like to be brought in?

Ashley is a disgrace, what has he done wrong? Three wins and we are safe in the Premier League. Crazy

Sad for Hughton, but I for one am not surprised. Especially given the lack of a contract.

What a joke! I can’t understand this decision at all. Did Newcastle need a man with extra experience when they thrashed Sunderland or Villa or when they went to the Emirates and won? Total waste of over a years hard work for Hughton and the Newcastle playing staff.

Over the past year Hughton has given the club stability on the pitch and taken the attention away from the horrible decisions Ashley has made. It is as if he wants us to be the next West Brom, maybe the parachute payments are what Ashley is after as I can’t see anything other than relegation for us now

I can’t explain how disappointed I am with this decision, what a disgrace. Ashley has once again put us at risk of being relegated, we are nothing but a rich man’s toy that he seems intent on breaking.

11th in the league for a newly promoted team is nothing to be ashamed of, who on earth does he expect to take over, no manager in his right mind would work for this regime, roll on Saturday and the Sky TV cameras, once again the nation gets to laugh at NUFC.

    Ashley out.
