West Ham will be rueing their inability to hold onto a lead after an entertaining 2-2 draw against Everton at Goodison Park today.

Avram Grant’s men went ahead midway through the first half thanks to a Jonathan Spector effort and the Hammers were full value for their lead. After suffering the disappointment of a Dinar Bilyaletdinov equaliser, West Ham regrouped and must have thought they’d won it when a towering Frederic Piquionne header put them ahead with just over five minutes remaining. Piquionne was shown his second yellow card for his celebration, and West Ham’s ten men failed to hang on as Marouane Fellaini scored a injury-time equaliser, which means the Hammers remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.

So what were the FIVE things we learnt about West Ham today?

1 – learn to hold onto a lead
2 – learn how to defend
    3 – don’t celebrate in the crowd when you’re on a booking
4 – we can stay up
5 – we will stay up!
