Goal of the week – James Morrison

A new year same old Manchester United, again playing relatively poorly but remaining glued to the top of the Premier League table after getting three points at The Hawthorns that weren’t really deserved. Certainly if quality of goal is included then James Morrison’s strike would have ensured the Baggies took home all the points.

It wasn’t a goal that was lavishly designed or created. Indeed it came in essence from fairly route one football. A fairly innocuous long ball up the park was nodded away by Man United’s Nemanja Vidic, but only as far as Morrison who met it expertly on the volley from about twenty yards on the right hand side of the penalty box to send the ball soaring over Tomasz Kuszczak into the top left hand corner. It was a textbook example of how to volley a football.

Holy Crap – it’s live fantasy football!
