FIVE things we learnt from Arsenal last night
Arsenal showed great determination last night and displayed an ability to stay in there when the going was tough to come from behind and beat Barcelona 2-1 at The Emirates Stadium in the first leg of the last 16 of the Champions League.
Arsene Wenger’s men were second best for large periods of the first half and Lionel Messi could have put Barca ahead before David Villa did just that. Arsenal were much stronger in the second half and led by an impressive Jack Wilshere in the middle of the park, clawed their way back into the match in a excellent five minute spell. First Robin van Persie equalised from a tight angle, then Andrey Arshavin finished off a flowing counter attack to set up an intriguing second leg at the Nou Camp.
