Everton look to take advantage of Leicester relationship

Everton boss David Moyes is mulling over a potential deal for Leicester midfielder Andy King, after sending scouts to watch him play – according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form this season by scoring 15 goals for Sven Goran Eriksson’s side, helping them towards securing a Championship play-off spot.

Manager David Moyes’ is renowned for his exceptional talent to develop lower league players and turn them into Premier League stars, which we have seen with the likes of Tim Cahill, Phil Jagielka and Joleon Lescott.

Leicester were recently taken over by a Thai-led organisation named Asian Football Investments (AFI) and have sufficient financial backing to not require the sale of the club’s essential youth assests.

However, Premier League football may appeal to King, who may consider a move away from the Foxes should Leicester not achieve promotion into the English elite.

The two clubs have maintained good relations with one another, following Ayegbeni Yakubu’s loan move to the Walkers stadium back in January, and could potentially act as bargaining power to bring King to Merseyside.

Elsewhere, Everton have finalised a permanent professional contract for 17-year-old Swedish defender Johan Hammer from Malmo. The centre-back completed a move to England last year although was ineligible to sign for the Toffees until his 17^th birthday earlier this week.

Also, Everton are reportedly looking to bring £7million-rated PSV Eindhoven midfielder Balazs Dzsudzsak to Goodison Park, who has also attracted attention from Arsenal.
