Barring the last day of the season, this is the most unbearable for most fans. But it encapsulates the whole transfer window feeling in one day. The final 24 hours. As the clock ticks towards midnight, fans gather round TV screens, repetitively press the F5 refresh button on their PC, whilst having the radio glued to one ear, in hope of their club making a dramatic last ditch signing, or finally landing the target they’ve chased for the entire window period. Will they, won’t they? The tension can be insufferable until the clock strikes 12am and we can relax, either revelling in the great business our club has done, or bemoan the lack of action or loss of our best players.
