Blackburn are set to offer unwanted Tottenham midfielder David Bentley the chance to return to Ewood Park reports the People.
Boss Steve Kean is desperate to bring some new faces in and could offer Bentley the chance to revive his career at his former club where he was a huge success.
The midfielder has suffered a torrid time at Spurs after his £15 million move two years ago starting just 12 Premier League games in that period.
He quickly dropped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane due to the performances of Aaron Lennon and spent the second half of last season on loan at relegated Birmingham.
The 26-year-old is still hungry for regular top-flight football and a move to Ewood Park could revitalise his flagging career with aspirations of adding to his seven England caps.
Bentley doesn’t feature in Spurs boss Harry Redknapp’s plans and Rovers could now offer a route out of North London.
A £7 million deal is said to be in the pipeline although that could change if Tottenham bid for Christopher Samba and Bentley is included in the deal.
Spurs are interested in the centre half and Rovers could be tempted to swap him for Bentley and the deal could be completed in the next 10 days.
