Everton are interested in signing out of favour Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha according to Mirror Sport.
Toffee’s boss David Moyes is in talks with officials at the Etihad Stadium over a move for the defender who has been deemed surplus to requirements.
Moyes is looking at bringing the 24-year old in on loan with finances tight at Goodison Park.
There is also interest from Bolton and Blackburn and other Premier League clubs who may be willing to take the defender off City’s hands in a permanent deal.
However it’s thought that the player would prefer to stay in the North West and a move to Everton would definitely appeal most to the former England under-21 international.
Onuoha spent last season on loan at Sunderland and City want to move him on permanently although may relent if the Toffee’s pick up his £40,000-a-week-wages.
Moyes has suffered a frustrating summer with no money made available to strengthen his squad.
The agenda on Merseyside is ‘sell before you buy’ and Moyes is working hard to try and sell long serving defender Joseph Yobo to raise funds.
The Toffees boss could end up reluctantly selling Phil Jagielka to Arsenal to get the money in to buy Onuoha but would rather have both defenders at his disposal next season.

Its been reported today that Barclays are trying to forclose on Everton’s debt.
The same Barclays which was bailed out by Sheik Mansour, who then sold up, making £3bn in 3 months. The same Sheik Mansour who owns City, and has just upped his stake in a grateful Barclays.
I don’t imagine Mansour selling a player to a team he’s about to break, financially. The same team who take 6 points off City every season.
