Ambitious Stoke City are again being linked with making a serious move in the transfer market, this time for West Ham United’s England international midfielder Scott Parker, according to the Daily Mail.
The Potters face strong opposition for Parker’s signature with Aston Villa, Chelsea, Arsenal and, of course, Tottenham Hotspur all linked with making a move for the 30-year old. West Ham are said to value Parker at around £8 million, whilst he is thought to be on wages of around £70,000 per-week – something which may prove problematic in any Stoke advances.
Stoke City are said to have a wage cap in place which they are reluctant to break, making it difficult to agree personal terms with some targets. In Parker’s case, Stoke manager Tony Pulis would have to convince him to nearly half his current wages, as their current highest earner is thought to be Kenwyne Jones who collects around £40,000 per-week.
A number of players have been linked with a move to the Brittania Stadium this summer, amongst them Nicklas Bendtner, Tottenham duo Peter Crouch, Wilson Palacios, and Birmingham duo Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome. But manager Pulis has revealed he’s ready to hold his nerve in the transfer market if need be: ‘We will improve the squad before the window closes. But we’ve always done our business later in the transfer window rather than earlier. I think the closer you get to deadline day, there are better deals to be done with certain players.’

Dream on, a club with no debt owned by a local man, who support his club, with committed players, and money to spend.
Just think how good parker would look in a team who play for each other.
