Blackburn co-owner Venkatesh Rao has stated that the side must start to pick up better results, and under-fire manager Steve Kean is fully aware of this after his visit to India.

The Scottish coach’s job is seemingly under threat, as the Ewood Park team have only won a single fixture this season so far.

But despite calls from some supporters for Kean to lose his job, Venkys have back the man in charge, but have made it clear that it is time for an upturn in fortunes.

“Believe me, it was frank and straight and we need results,” Rao told Sky Sports.

“Everyone is looking forward – from the players to the manager to the owners. I am positive. The luck didn’t go for us in the first two games and then we had a wonderful win (against Arsenal) before we were sliding down.

“Now after this meeting and the team coming especially to India, they have had a refreshing time, and I think they will go with a positive note after this meeting.

“I would like to assure the fans we are very much concerned about the situation. It is really painful, I know that. It is painful for the owners with what is happening.

“I would like to be honest – we will show some results and we will produce some results and make our fans happy,” he stated.

Rovers travel to Loftus Road to take on QPR on Saturday, and a negative result could well spell the end of Kean’s tenure at the club.
