Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has admitted that he would be interested in a move to Paris St Germain, as first team opportunities at the Etihad Stadium have become limited.

The African centre half served a eight-month ban after failing a drugs test last season, and has found it difficult to get a spot in Roberto Mancini’s starting XI back, due to the form of Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott.

The Ivory Coast international may well be the subject of transfer talk come January, and would be open to a switch to the French capital.

“I would be interested because of the competition there currently is at City. If the name of Paris comes it will not be like previous years,” he told RMC Sport.

“Now if they call me, I would listen to what they say. Given the very good players there are in Paris, it really makes you want to go there, it’s clear.

“I know I’m not the only player interested, there are other players who really want to play for PSG.

“It’s not just for the money, but also because we see that there are very good investors who want to move the club to produce good football and win trophies,” he concluded.

PSG were recently bought over by the Qatari Investment Authority, and have spent big in the summer, purchasing a raft of international superstars including Javier Pastore.

Their latest target has been David Beckham, but a move to the Parc de Princes has not yet been confirmed.
