Galatasaray president Unal Aysal has admitted that his side are interested in signing Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov come the January transfer window.
The Bulgarian striker has found first team opportunities limited this season, as Sir Alex Ferguson has preferred Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck in attack.
A move in the upcoming transfer window seems realistic for the former Spurs attacker, and the Istanbul based team are interested in the mercurial frontman.
“We’re not just looking at Berbatov; we’re interested in a number of players,” Unal told Hurriyet.
“Yes, we’re thinking of forwards, but now is far too early.
“We can only get in contact and decide at the end of December, when the time comes. We have four or five players in mind.
“But we can’t say that we want to buy any one player because we have not decided yet,” he concluded.

I fully expect Berbatov to be gone in January or the summer but I’m really disappointed by that. He was top scorer last season and made up Wayne Rooney’s sub-par performances. He doesn’t seem to put too much effort into games but his skill is undoubted and I cannot understand why Ferguson decides against playing him all the time. I’ll be sad to see him go
