Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry is training with the North London club in an attempt to keep fit in the MLS off-season.

The New York Red Bulls attacker has a number of months off after his team were eliminated from the playoffs by David Beckham’s LA Galaxy, and similar to last year at the same venture, has requested to train with the Emirates outfit.

The former France international scored 174 goals in 254 appearances for The Gunners, and Arsene Wenger has confirmed his return to the club.

“Thierry is back training with us. He just wants to stay fit, enjoy himself and come back to Arsenal Football Club. He is at home here so it’s always good to have him back,” he told The Daily Mail.

“We kept in touch anyway, even in the States. He just turns up and practices. When it’s possible of course he can practice with the first team.

“He always gives us a lift and shows just what a good player he is. He doesn’t like to lose – that doesn’t change,” the trainer concluded.
