Owen Coyle has admitted that Bolton’s lack of results is tough to take, and knows the importance of his side’s clash with Blackburn on Tuesday.

The Trotters were beaten by Fulham 2-0 at the weekend, and are firmly rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table on nine points.

Despite keeping a positive outlook, the Scottish coach has revealed that it is agonising to watch his team get beaten.

“Inside it is absolutely killing me. I have a positive mindset, but this is a horrible time,” he told The Telegraph.

“Travelling back on the train, a million things go through your head. It is because I love this club and care about football. I know what the players and staff here can achieve.”

Bolton take on Steve Kean’s men at Ewood Park in midweek, and Coyle is under no illusion how important the game is.

“The Blackburn game is our biggest of the season. If we can get a result it could give us the platform to go on and do something over the next five or six games.

“It is a test for both clubs. It won’t be about going out and playing the prettiest football, it will be about going out and getting that elusive three points, and that is why it is a huge game,” he concluded.

Meanwhile Mirror Football indicate that both Gael Kakuta and Dedryck Boyata will be sent back to parent clubs Chelsea and Manchester City in January, as Coyle looks to freshen up his squad with two new loan signings.
