Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has stated that finishing in the top four is the club’s main aim, after watching his side beat Norwich 2-0 at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.

Two second half goals from Gareth Bale sealed victory in an impressive performance by the White Hart Lane team, and moves them to within seven points of Manchester United and City, having played a game less.

Despite this, Redknapp remained frank when asked when he would consider his team as title contenders.

“If there’s one game to go and we’re sitting with a chance to win the league,” he told Sky Sports.

“Man United and Man City look so strong, I wouldn’t like to pick up a winner out of those two.

“We’d like to get back in the Champions League and that won’t be easy,” he stated.

With the January transfer window approaching Redknapp believes he has a strong squad at his disposal, and will only buy someone who can improve this standard.

“Not really, no. I think it would only cause us problems,” he commented when asked whether or not he needed new players.

“Unless, as I have said all along, there was somebody out there at a different level.

“But I don’t know where you find that player. Well, I do know there is one or two, but we probably can’t get them, so it is difficult,” he concluded.
