Reds hit with FA charges

Liverpool have been hit with a double charge of ill-discipline following their 1-0 defeat to Fulham on Monday night.

The Merseyside club received a charge of failing to control their players, whilst Luis Suarez has been accused of making a derogatory gesture to the Craven Cottage crowd.

The FA revealed the sanctions on Wednesday, and Kenny Dalglish’s men have until Monday 12th December to answer the governing body’s allegations.

Young Reds midfielder Jay Spearing was sent off in the second half of the defeat, and a number of Liverpool players crowded referee Kevin Friend in protest to the decision.

Meanwhile, Uruguay international Suarez is believed to have raised his middle finger to celebrating Fulham supporters as he left the field in the aftermath of the loss.

Suarez is currently under investigation from the FA already, as Manchester United defender Patrice Evra accused the South American of making racist comments towards him in the sides’ 1-1 draw at Anfield back in October.

Liverpool have confirmed that they have received the information from the FA, but declined to comment on the charges before further examination of the incidents.
