Manchester City feeder clubManchester City boss Roberto Mancini has stated that despite his side’s elimination from the Champions League on Wednesday, he still wants to win the double.

The Etihad Stadium outfit crashed out of Europe’s top club tournament, as Bayern Munich and Napoli claimed the top two spots in Group A, and City will now compete in the Europa League knockout rounds.

Despite being disappointed at not progressing, the Italian coach wants success in the tournaments they are still in, and feels they will do better in the Champions League next time round.

“It is my opinion next year, that if we play Champions League, we will do better,” he told Sky Sports.

“I am sure we will improve, but it is important to finish well this year.

“When I say finish well this year I mean to maybe win two trophies.

“The Europa League is now an important trophy.

“The Premier League is the priority – and the Europa League, Carling Cup and FA Cup.

“If we are lucky and we don’t have a lot of injuries in the future, we have a team that can play all competitions,” he concluded.
