The Man To Fire Everton Up the Table?

While Everton remain well out of the running for a place in next season’s Europa League, and being only 4pts away from the relegation zone, is a move for want-away striker Bobby Zamora a realistic solution to fire The Toffees up the table?

The struggles David Moyes had in the summer trying to recruit players to strengthen his squad are well-known. Chairman Bill Kenwright made it clear that there was no money for the club to bring in new faces and any purchases would have to be facilitated through the sales of the club’s much coveted assets. But despite Mikel Arteta being the only major name to leave Goodison Park in summer, Everton have continued to struggle for form and the always reliable Tim Cahill looks toothless in-front of goal.

With the January transfer window fast approaching and the need for alternative options in the goal scoring department, should David Moyes consider a move for Fulham’s out-of-favour striker Bobby Zamora? Zamora was recently left out of Fulham’s squad which faced Swansea last weekend, and reports suggest manager Martin Jol does not favour the England International. With Euro 2012 coming up in the summer, Zamora will be determined to book his place on the plane and prove to Fabio Capello that he is capable of taking the suspended Wayne Rooney’s place in the starting XI.

Meanwhile, Everton have lost four of their last six league games and have had to look to other members of the squad for goals, while Tim Cahill and Louis Saha have only one league goal between them. If a move for Bobby Zamora were to materialise then Everton would be looking to a striker who’s price-tag would certainly be within their limited budget as well as taking on a player who would offer them an alternative and added edge to their worryingly troubled striking options.

Bobby would be a bargain deal since Donovan is not coming back to the club…love to have Henry partner with Saha…make a move before it’s too late..

hate to tell but dave will persevere with saha and cahill right through the season, when we are in the championship he might use someone else, one striker is useless therefore no matter who we buy they will struggle up front on their own
