Arsene Wenger hits back at his critics

Arsene Wenger has stated that he believes that criticism aimed at his Arsenal side is unfair, and that his team want to win the north London derby next weekend.

The Gunners suffered an emphatic 4-0 defeat at the hands of AC Milan in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday, before being knocked out of the FA Cup by Sunderland on Saturday.

The French manager feels that the question marks over his players are unwarranted, and he is focussing on the next game.

“It depends what you call a crisis,” he told Sky Sports when asked whether he considered his side to be in one.

“Every time we lose a game we have a crisis. Our job is about winning and playing well.

“We will get criticism but I feel that it is a bit hard on the team.

“At the moment I get many lessons from many people who have managed zero clubs and zero games and zero European games.

“We have played 15 years in the top four, which is a mark of our consistency.

“The competition is very hard in England. I do not want to speak too much about that. We can speak a long time about that one day.

“At the moment we have to forget all that and focus on our next game and try to win it. We won our last away game in the Premier League so let’s win our next one at home,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail have stated that Wenger will be given a £55 million transfer kitty to strengthen his squad in the summer, going against the club’s usual frugal approach in buying new players.

Wenger, no doubt that the team wants to win every game. It would be shameful to expect anything less. However, the truth of the matter is that the team which you say deserves no critisism is just not good enough. Barring RvP and 1 or 2 others, the team is lacking in ability ie. Djourou, Walcott, Diaby, Arshavin etc. 7 seasons without sucess is a cause for worry and is also a reflection of yur failure when it comes to building a team for the future. The team you built has left before it wasestablished and were left with the rejects , nothing else. Tme to head for paris and retirement!

I have not watched the last two games because i fear for my fragile heart because its the sames excuses every time. The defense must be worked on, RVP needs support etc. Clean the team and bring on dependable players.

So according to Wenger he should not be judged on the poor performances because we have never coached or managed. Then, we mustn’t be upset with players and criticise them because every loss is not a crisis. So the people who pay to see this trash must shut up and accept it because we have never been in their shoes. If the premiership is too difficult for him then perhaps it is time for Wenger to step aside for someone up for the challenge.

Look at the 100 articles by journo, ex players, pundits and many fans. We all have a opinion but to get someone that’s never done what you do for a livin either through lack of talent, knowledge ability etc telling you how you should be doing your job is laughable. Also the teams around us don’t seem to get as harsh a criticism. Liverpool spent 100 mill and behind us,chelsea are in near enuFf same pos and spurs having the best season ever are 1 place ahead of us.
Yes this season has been a nightmare and the players deserve a serious rollicking for some performances this season most notably last 2 games but some critics are taking the piss. Apart from Alex ferguson who is the most succesful manager in the pRem?everyone hate losing and these are hard times but turning on our most succesful manager in our history is a bit knee jerk.
