We were all drooling at the prospect of a Manchester derby as early as in the third round of the FA Cup in January. Referee Chris Foy tried his best to kill the spectacle off however as he sent City’s Belgian captain Vincent Kompany to the stands for a harsh lunge on United’s Nani. Winning the ball fairly cleanly, Foy was obviously thinking about clamping down on the new type of ‘lunging tackle’ but he most definitely got this instance wrong. United sailed into a 3-0 lead, only for City to show tremendous character for 10 men in pegging them back to 3-2.
