Everyone knows about the ‘Why Always Me?’ incident – and what followed was a torrent of undershirt messages from players, admirable and otherwise. Gary Cahill’s ‘Pray 4 Muamba’ message was a great way to show the game’s support for Fabrice Muamba and his family in a time of difficulty. However, other footballers have adopted less honourable messages such as Robin van Persie wishing his grandfather a happy birthday and Carlos Tevez revealing the name of the town he grew up in in Argentina. Once again, a fad has come about and become so over-used it bores everybody. However, I still eagerly await to see what Mario Balotelli does next – now he is certainly not boring.
