  • ThumbnailWhat a defining summer this could be at Arsenal. 12-months ago the club was deeply embroiled in two separate transfer sagas sending panic levels soaring around North London. The eventual sale of Cesc Faberags and Samir Nasri left Arsene Wenger with a monumental bank balance but little time to sufficiently purchase replacements. The consequences were severely [...]

Webb may have been involved in controversy from time to time, but name me a referee who hasn’t. You may not like him, but he’s the most qualified man in the country to talk on this matter.

ThumbnailThe game needs characters; I accept that, but don’t some players just love their own hype? Football is very pantomime-like at times and for every hero, there is certainly a villain and the boo boys always seem to prioritise time to victimise the following pros but perhaps they deserve the occasional ear bashing. Whether a player [...]

I’m with you on getting rid of all the deadwood, defectedmonkey, although I think you’re being generous with the £7million for big Bassong! Not sure Spurs need to bring in that many players, especially not Figueroa and Gordon- could be quite destabilizing? But Kalou and Hoilett would be good business.

I completely agree that with Redknapp in charge, the Sporting Director is never going to be a possibility. Harry is from the old school and I cannot see him even understanding the role, let alone agreeing to it. The problem is, with this summer being so so crucial in terms of player recruitment to the [...]

Besides being the finest referee to emerge from [...]
