Ligue 1 giants Monaco are leading the race to sign Thomas Ince, according to the Independent.
And the youngster knows a high-wage move to Monaco is on the cards should he let his contract expire this summer. Ince turned down a £8million move to Cardiff in August, whilst Blackpool rejected a £5million offer from Liverpool last year.
The Reds are actually set to miss out financially as well as physically should Ince join Monaco, as they currently hold a 35% sell-on clause on Ince. But should the English youngster move for free, Liverpool will receive nothing, whilst they could have received just under £3million had Ince joined Cardiff in the summer.
Monaco are assembling a superstar squad with the finances of Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, spending £50million for Radamel Falcao last summer, as well as bringing Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez to the club.
And now Ince looks set to join those star names at Monaco, leaving his Dad high and dry. Father Paul Ince is the current manager at Blackpool, and could be set to watch his son depart to Ligue 1 for free, meaning the club miss out on a high transfer fee.
