Football FanCast columnist and Wolves fan Vinny Banks is of the opinion that if you want to be entertained as a football fan then look no further than the Championship.

As the Premier League shapes up to adopt another textbook look with United, Chelsea and Arsenal battling it out at the top, Liverpool sitting comfortably in fourth and teams like Newcastle and Tottenham set firmly on mid table mediocrity. Has the Premier League becoming boring and predictable?

And while all eyes are firmly on the delights of the European game been dominated by our Premier League elite, id like to avert your eyes to the Championship, where anything is possible. Any six of the top 11 teams still have a realistic chance of either finishing in the euphoric heights of the top two, or a place in the dreaded, but warmly welcomed play offs.

This may be due to the fact that the standard is indeed dropping and the Premier League is spiralling out of control, but there is no other league like the Championship in the world. Call me biased if you will, but as a Wolves fan, last weeks victory at the valley was possibly one of the games of the season and what a spectacle for England's second tier of football.

In recent times, we have witnessed a team in the Championship running riot and gaining point totals that can boast three figures. Cast your mind back to 2006 when Reading rattled up an unprecedented 106 points, but not this season. 12 points separate the top 10 sides in the league and with 5 games to go and I would be naïve to predict the ending to what has truly been a roller coaster season.

Hats, scarves and every piece of clothing you possible can, must be taken off to Phil Brown who has worked wonders up at the KC stadium. His Hull side have the Premier League in sight after a run of form that has amazed the whole of the Championship, earning him quite rightly, the manager of the month accolade for March.

I mentioned previously that the standard of the League may dropping, and why that maybe the case, a clutch of Championship clubs have shown resilience, attacking prowess and a real thirst for winning when it comes to the FA Cup. A star studded Liverpool side and a Chelsea outfit nothing short of world class have both been dumped out by Championship strugglers Barnsley, who this weekend take on Cardiff at Wembley after they disposed of Middlesbrough with consummate ease.

With respect to Premier League clubs, resting players is key to their survival bid. But the Championship is now making up three quarters of the FA cup, a feat that all fans of this level can be proud of.

So who will reach the dizzy heights of the Premier League next season? Man Utd fans beware, Ashton gate beckons for you next season! Or will Molineux once again be host to Premier League football?

One thing is for sure; the rest of the season is going to be packed with twists, turns, tears and champagne!
