Liverpool PodJockey Lawrie Brand cannot understand why the reds continually fail to get the credit or due respect they so rightly deserve.

Off the back of a brilliant victory against the Gunners, I am left wondering why we still go into every Champions League game as supposed underdogs. Having cruised past Inter, defeated Arsenal and now we face Chelsea in the semi final and guess what? We are once again considered the underdog. There seems to be a lack of respect and appreciation of Liverpool within the media, have they forgotten we have disposed of the West Londoners twice at this stage in recent years?

Do people not realise we have the best English record in the Champions League over recent years. Two finals in three years and obviously victorious in 2005, the stats don't lie. Do they not realise Rafa has designed his squad to be effective in the Champions League. Sure it hasn't always worked in the Premier League, but no one can say we haven't been successful in Europe.

I'm left bemused by the way no one likes to credit Liverpool. They instead look at the poor performance of the opposition, or them having a bad day at the office. I'm not saying we're a great side, because great sides are consistent over a long period and we're not there yet. What we are is a very good side that's very competitive and could beat anyone on their day. Is it not fair to say we go out with a game plan against sides and pull it off?

It would be nice to see more credit where credits due, instead looking at the odd incident, what ifs and how unlucky the opposition were. It's not as if we don't have any quality players in our ranks and we scrape through with passion and drive alone. We have one of the best midfielders in the world and one of the most in-form strikers around in Europe.

I'd like to see us recognised as the force that we are in Europe. Not just as the team who's lucky to get through each game we play. All I want is more respect for the talented side we are and dispel this underdog tag forever.

You are dead right, people
You are dead right, people seem to forget that we are also the biggest team in the country. Honours speak for themselves and should never be questioned by the United loving media.

Its a disgrace the way we
Its a disgrace the way we have been percieved. As Garret says people forget how many League and European titles we have won - we are in the top 5 in the whole of Europe.

Im sorry but Liverpool were
Im sorry but Liverpool were favourites for the game against Arsenal in the second leg... fact! Hence the papers the day after the first leg at the emirates saying Liverpool have the advantage. And i dont mean to be rude but Liverpool were amazing to win the champions league 3 years ago, since theyve consistantly finished fourth. We must be the only country in the world that gives so much coverage to a team that finish 4th place so really you should count yourselves lucky. Personally its the Evertons and Blackburns who have justifications for being underestimated. Do we really hear much of Valencia now a days or Real Betis or Villareal No? reason? because theyre not competitive enough in the league. And surely it makes sense that a side that is 4th is underdogs against the team above them. This is another case of the world is against us from the top four. You have nothing at all to moan about, your on course for the champions league again and qualifying and look strong for next season. Big four? Big Moaners!

We've actually been third
We've actually been third the last two years if you check. Arsenal have been fourth but this seems to go unnoticed and unmentioned. It's a bit rich to compare us to Spanish sides that have never won anything, when we were in the biggest club game of the year last season, won the competition a couple of years before and are one of the most successful teams in european football. Ok we haven't done as well as we hoped in the league, but I bet if you ask fans and journalists in Italy, Spain, France and Germany we'd get a hell of a lot more respect than we do here.

Liverpool got to the next
Liverpool got to the next stage luckily for a stupid penalty..mancs get the attention and refs support in the league and you guys in the cl..first leg penalty to Arsenal not given and now in second leg no penalty but was still given! FFUUUUCCKK That! Liverpool's football is not in the standard of Arsenal or Manutd's are..you guys play safe and sometimes play for draws in CL just to have the advantage..meanwhile Arsenal and ManUtd play total attacking football and goes into each match with winning mentality, not "drawing" mentality like you sick assssholes! Hope Chelsea ffuucck you up!

I find it hard to take
I find it hard to take someone with the name 'Gayr' seriously, however with the use of Plonka i feel Delboy would suffice. I am not a hater of Liverpool infact half my family are reds but lets call a spade a spade, what do you have to moan about? You're not getting justice in the league because you havent competed for the top place, you are known as a very good champions league team which i totally agree with. So your praise or lack of at time is completely justified.

No Adam, read the actual
No Adam, read the actual article above. What Lawrie is saying (and he's quite right), is that despite being a great Champion's League side we are underestimated at every stage of the competition. Depite, over the last four seasons, despatching the likes of Barcelona, Juventus, Chelsea (twice), AC Milan, Inter Milan and now Arsenal, EVERY time we play we are the underdogs and when we win we're labelled "lucky". It's a total lack of respect. We don't deserve respect in the Premier League, but we don't get in ANYWHERE.

I'm fine with our side being
I'm fine with our side being underdogs all of the time beyond the group stages in the Champions League. It's great from a betting point of view.
