Football FanCast columnist Hans Schmitz is delighted to see Spurs are making efforts to fill that left wing slot but is torn as to who he would prefer.
If there is one thing that I find extremely despicable about a club of our size is the way we have continued to put square pegs in round holes. Play Malbranque on the left, gave Jenas on arrival a shift on the right - It simply makes no sense as to why we do it and what I find it extremely hard to fathom that in five transfer windows, we have continually failed to fill that left midfield slot. It honestly defies belief and I for one am glad to hear the noises from the Lane that it is something we are looking to address.
Juande Ramos is intent in making it somewhat of a priority this summer and I for one and glad to hear that Stewart Downing's name hasn't been mentioned once. We are in the market for quality under Juande Ramos and with names such as Diego Capel and Giovanni Dos Santos being touted; we all have reason to be excited.
Depending on what paper or news source you read then Spurs are very close to securing a deal for Dos Santos, while in Spain it suggests that the club are about to activate a release clause for Seville's Diego Capel. Both wingers are extremely talented, dynamic and would be fantastic additions however I am somewhat torn as to which will be the better choice.
Giavanni Dos Santos
Diego Capel
Would Capel be more suited to the Premier League? Will Dos Santos be able to cope with the physical side of the English game? So out of the two which one would you prefer to see down the lane?
