'Hall of Fame' Part thirteen - Southampton's very own 'Le God'

Football FanCast is introducing its new ‘hall of fame' which is a
celebration of all the great players that have graced pitches in the British
Isles in the last 30yrs.

The best thing about football is that is
brings people together. For ten months you are locked together in one big
family; all sharing the same dreams and hopes that your football club is going
to succeed and whether your Southampton or Sutton Utd; those same emotions are
replicated throughout.

Do Premier League fans really have any concern for the lower leagues?

Football FanCast columnist Matt Brennan looks at the growing threat of administration that many lower league clubs face and wonders if their plight actually draws any sympathy from those supporters in the Premier League.

My fellow colleague Sam Hollis recently wrote an article about Luton Town and how they face the prospect of starting the season on -25pts. This was all due to apparent dodgy dealings from the previous regime and it's clear the knives are out and you do wonder if the Bedfordshire club are being made an example of. It got me thinking about the lower leagues in general and the harsh treatment that some of the clubs receive within - it all probably seems a far cry from those who follow the Premier League and I wonder if any of their fans actually have any sympathy for clubs in the lower divisions.

Why I fear the worst Wolves unless changes are made!

Football FanCast
columnist Vinny Banks cannot help but feel the worst for Wolves,
as their prize assets are constantly linked to the Premier League.

As I sit here taking in the early summer sunshine, with pre
season only around the corner, I cannot help but feel the worst for my beloved
Wolves. With prized assets like Michael Kightly and young goalkeeping sensation
Wayne Hennessey, both heavily linked with Premier League clubs - you kind of
sense, if a suitable offer was to come in, that neither will be starting the
season at Molineux.
Have Hull City proved why the playoff system does work and doesnt need reform?

Football FanCast columnist David
Mooney has enjoyed the weekend's playoff finals and feels that it is a system
that doesn't need tampering with.

It's playoff time once
again and, I must say, the matches I've seen I have greatly enjoyed. But it's
about this time every year when the pundits, mainly on the radio, question
whether the playoff system is fair. After all, a team could, feasibly, finish
third and miss out on an automatic place on goal difference, but lose to a team
fifteen or so points behind them in sixth and so miss out on promotion
altogether.

Bristol City & Hull start your engines - the Championship play-off final is upon us!

columnist Andy Davies looks ahead to the most lucrative 90mins in
world football - the Championship play-off.

It's the most lucrative game in club football worth an
estimated £60 million to the winners and this season's Championship play-off
final is sure to be one of the most exciting yet. At the beginning of the
season Bristol City were being tipped for relegation by the bookmakers while
Hull were also backed to struggle after fighting relegation in their previous
campaign. But both teams have proved their doubters wrong and who ever achieves
promotion will surely do themselves proud in the Premiership next season.

wonders who will be leaving Wembley with the famous trophy.

The FA Cup Final is the most famous day in the English
football calendar and although tomorrows contest will feature clubs from
outside the top four for the first time in over a decade, the game promises to
deliver to football fans everywhere.

Heartbreak for Palace but they will return the stronger for it!

Football FanCast columnist Alex
Dimond reflects on his beloved Crystal Palace's playoff defeat.

Football - why do we
love it when it can be so cruel? The torture and pain of reality rarely lives
up to the hope and excitement of expectations. I really believed that Crystal
Palace had a great chance of winning promotion through the playoffs this season,
regardless of media talk of us being favourites and having the best form, so
the demise of my dream was painful. It is hard even to write about it, but like
therapy, it will only help with the recovery.
