Is Wigan chief right to defend the number of foreigners in the Premier League?

Football FanCast columnist Rob Facey reacts to Dave Whelan's comments regarding the state of the Premier League and wonders if the Wigan chairman has a point when it comes to defending the number of foreign players in the country.

Following on from Sir David Richards comments that the Premier League has contributed to the downfall of the national team has been met with criticism from Premier League chairmen, most prominently Wigan's Dave Whelan. But who is in the right?

Suggesting Wigan would roll over is nothing short of an insult to a United great!

Football FanCast columnist Rob Facey looks at the situation regarding the extra pressure being placed on Steve Bruce to ensure that his Wigan side put up a fight on Sunday and wonders if there are more sinister forces at work.

Under Paul Jewell Wigan had lost all 20 of their meetings with the big four since promotion in 2005, but since Steve Bruce took over the club have shared points at Anfield and Stamford Bridge, as well as holding Arsenal at the JJB Stadium.
