PodJockey David Chidgey looks into the psyche of a football supporter and
what makes a real fan.
On last week's Chelsea Football FanCast, Chidge
and Stu were joined by Mark Worrall, author of ‘One Man Went to Mow' and ‘Over
Land and Sea'. Mark has also founded a popular group called Gate 17,
representing the Chelsea fans who sit in that part of the Stamford Bridge
ground.
Chelsea PodJockey David Chidgey looks at the ever changing faces of his beloved football club.
What a funny old world we inhabit as modern day Chelsea fans. We finish
runners up in the Champions League, Premiership and Carling Cup, and yet we're
not happy. Nor is our oligarch Russian owner, Uncle Roman. In fact, he's so
unhappy that he fires the unhappy frog aka ‘Average
Can't' for gross failure.
Football FanCast columnist Rob Facey wonders if Frank Lampard will be reunited with
Jose Mourinho at Inter and what this could mean for Scolari at Chelsea next
season.
Frank Lampard has
officially been named as Jose Mourinho's Number One priority in the transfer
market this summer as the future of the Chelsea midfielder remains in doubt.
Chelsea PodJockey David Chidgey looks back at Petr Cech recent blunders and wonders if there is any real
cause for concern.
The only satisfaction
to be had in watching Euro 2008 as an England fan is in watching your club's
players hopefully performing with their usual aplomb. As a Chelsea fan,
watching Michael Ballack, Ricky C, Paulo Ferreira, Boswinga all play well is
good to see. Less so, watching the pitifully awful France containing The Incredible
Sulk - Nicolas Anelka; the peripheral Malouda, and the once reliable Makelele.
Football FanCast
columnist Rob Facey wonders if the expected arrival of Deco at
Stamford Bridge will bring a change of style at the Bridge?
Being too defensive was straw that broke the camels back for
both Mourinho and Grant, despite what some would deem successful eras as
manager of Chelsea. But for Felipe Scolari, the Chelsea boss in waiting, the
future of the club already has a more offensive look about it.
Football FanCast
columnist
Rob Facey thinks that Scolari should ignore Ronaldinho's come and get me plea to
sign him for Chelsea as the new boss will already have a hell of a job to do at
Stamford Bridge without having to deal with the baggage the Brazilian carries.
So desperate is Ronaldinho for a move that
his agent is insisted that because of a successful 2002 World Cup campaign,
Scolari will welcome the former World Player of The Year at the Bridge next
season.
Football FanCast
columnist Rob Facey reacts to Felipe Scolari being handed the
reigns at Chelsea and wonders whether ‘Big Phil' can maintain a successful
working relationship with Abramovich?
Felipe Scolari will arrive at Chelsea on July 1, two days
after the end of Euro 2008, after being named as Avram Grants successor
yesterday. A great move by Chelsea but how will Scolari cope with Abramovich
looking over his shoulder?
Football FanCast
columnist Rob Facey looks at Phil Scolari's latest
comments regarding his job prospects after Euro 2008 and wonders whether
Chelsea have won the race.
Phil Scolari is likely to be named as the Chelsea manager next
season after hinting that he would like to work in a new environment after Euro
2008.
