The Ghana midfielder has been with the Gunners since he was nine and came through the ranks at the Emirates Stadium, but is no longer part of Arsene Wenger’s long-term plan.
Despite showing signs of promise after being thrust into the first team by Wenger in the early part of last season, and then on loan at Wolves, the 21-year-old has struggled with injuries since.
It’s now emerged that Frimpong can leave the North London club for nothing in the summer and could yet well stay at Craven Cottage where he is currently on a six-month loan.
Despite making only two appearances for the Cottagers since his arrival in the Premier League January transfer window, manager Martin Jol spoke of his desire to keep the former England under-17 international at the club permanently.
“If there is an opportunity to take him, I would probably do it,” Jol said.
One player that is definitely remaining at Fulham is Chris Baird after he put pen-to-paper on a new one-year deal and joined Damien Duff and Philippe Senderos in committing their futures to the West London club.
