The Cottagers took all three points at home to the North East outfit on Monday to end their seven game winless run.
Martin Jol’s side face local rivals QPR next, in a fixture that the Craven Cottage-based side have not lost since 1983.
Schwarzer wants the team to use the confidence gained from their last result to help them move up the Premier League table:
“It’s a massive game,” he is quoted by SkySports.
“We just need to recover and take the confidence from Monday night’s game into the weekend.”
The Australian stopper also believes that he team should have beaten the Magpies by a more convincing margin:
“We should have won by more against Newcastle.
“We had some very good chances, not half-chances or lucky chances – very, very good ones. Their keeper played very well and on another day we might have won more comfortably.
“But of course we’re pleased to have won. Newcastle were on similar points to us and it was important to get a win.
“We’d gone seven games without one, we’d been unlucky at times, so it’s nice to be back to winning ways.”
