GFH are a venture capital company, their shareholders want profits, what football club makes a profit? To my mind they want to buy Leeds, see them promoted and sell them at a profit a.s.a.p.. They obviously have little knowledge of football as now there appears very little chance , if any of Leeds being promoted this year, having not understood the relevance of transfer/loan windows.

As for Bates I get tired of irrational comments directed against him. The last time I looked at the Times rich list he had less wealth than all but one of the Premiership chairmen ( Swansea being the one). The investment Leeds require is far greater than he can afford, perhaps he realises that and hence the sale.

Leaving aside the investment in players lets face it Elland Road is now looking its age, at least Bates ( unfortunately to the detriment of investment in the team) realised that.

As for Warnock, he was the right man but was dealt a short hand. Given his stated position of retiring in the Summer we should get a manager in now who can build a team who can play the football the crowd want to see and get us promoted next year.

As for Haigh, remember we had a so called supporter in charge and look what happened then.

I think this sums up the thoughts of every Leeds fan in the country. The initial optimism has transcended into a farce played out as only Leeds United can, in public and we are left a laughing stock. This season is over and with the League leaders on Saturday and another sub 20k crows at ER the loan window will shut in our Red faces without a single new signing, cheers Ken cheers GFH we don’t deserve this at all, the supporters of Leeds deserve so very much better than this!

This article is brilliant it sums up just how i feel. I never thought id say this but I’ve had enough of supporting Leeds. ill never support anyone else but I’ve just lost interest and its all because its become more about the boardroom then it has about the football.

The whole thing has been suspicious all along. I think we have been believing what we wanted to believe. Once it’s too late and the transfer window has closed Bates will announce that everything has fallen through and they were to timewasters.

GFH are / will / maybe / would of started off completely on the wrong foot with the supporters not trusting them nor liking them.

On the basis of what we have encountered so far, GFH will have to work very hard as the fans’ own opinion of them is surely at a lower ebb than when Bates first took over. Nice piece, telling it like it is.

Anyone writing a book on what’s wrong with English football would have Leeds on every page and a separate chapter just for Kenneth Bates, a man who understands the price of everything but the value of nothing.
