Hatem Ben Arfa is not ready to leave Newcastle, even though Alan Pardew has frozen him out of his first-team plans and is currently making him train with the reserves, according to reports from the Newcastle Chronicle.
The French playmaker is rumoured to have a major run-in with his manager after returning for pre-season, with the Magpies boss thought to have been angered at his level of fitness.
This only built on frustrations Pardew had towards the enigmatic playmaker from last term, with the 27-year-old’s hot and cold performances, as well as arguments after big games, having resulted in a drop away from the starting XI.
Ben Arfa has since been stripped of his No. 10 shirt by the club, and is widely thought to be available to any suitors for a fraction of his true worth.
But despite the situation, the silky attacker has told team-mates that he will not be leaving the North East, and that he is determined to fight for his future.
Ben Arfa has impressed in showings for Newcastle’s reserve side, but it remains to be seen if Pardew is willing to recall him.
