Newcastle United announced today that they have struck a deal with Papa John’s to be their official pizza partner until the end of the season.
It caps a pretty eventful seven days for the club, where they saw star player Yohan Cabaye sold to PSG for £19million and then director of football Joe Kinnear – who famously named Cabaye ‘Kebab’ – resigned after a poor eight months in the job.
And now this new commercial partnership gives Magpies fans in the North East the chance to have half-prize pizza if Alan Pardew’s side score at least twice in a game.
So after they swapped Kebab for Pizza, have Newcastle got a good deal after all? Here’s what Twitter had to say about it…
Anyone know anything about this Papa Johns fella we’ve signed on loan? Any good? Is he related to Stern John? #nufc

Joe Kinnear’s final act was sealing the Papa Johns deal, apparently Pardew asked him to get a big fella that was a box to box expert

Papa Johns watching us in the derby and concluding that us scoring 2 in a game for the rest of the season is pretty unlikely #nufc
